Biography
George Henry Waple III, born February 8, 1921 in Waple's Mill Virginia a community founded by his great grandfather. He joined the US Army 3rd Cavalry in 1938 and served in World War II as First Sergeant and Korea as First Lieutenant. Between wars he was First Sergeant for the Arlington Ceremonial Detail, Chief Usher for all White House functions and member of General Omar Bradley's staff for security where he earned a direct commission. Then he served in the Caribbean Command which afforded many opportunities to advance American Policy. Retired in 1962 after a tour at US Army Command & Staff School, Waple resides in Eatontown, NJ and keeps connected via activities at Ft. Monmouth Electronics Command.
