Biography
Stewart Portela is a teacher/coach at Firth High School in Firth, Idaho. He has been a public school teacher for 25 years. In 2005 he authored his first book Heroes Among Us and in 2006 he coauthored a second book Footsteps In The Sand with Sam Walton. Stewart's wife of 25 years is Esther and they have three children, Dustin, Garret, and Caden.
Sam Walton is retired from the U.S. Army where he was a member of the 101st Airborne Division where he participated on their renowned parachute team, the Screaming Eagles. He comes from a long line of veterans. His father Darreld L. served with the Strategic Air Command during the Vietnam War and grandfather Darreld A. served with the 45th Division in Korea. Sam lives in Blackfoot, Idaho, with his wife Heather and their four children, Samuel, Kali, Abby, and Peyton.
